R22 refrigerant has been used by the air conditioning industry for many years but it has been proven to contribute to the depletion of the ozone therefore the Government has begun restricting its use. The R22 phase out program began in December 2009 and is now totally banned for all new installations and servicing.

Whilst replacing existing R22 systems can be daunting for any business it may be simpler than you anticipate. Many systems benefit from the new ‘replacement technology’ involving only the internal fan coil and external condensing unit being replaced rather than replacing the entire system including pipe work and electrics which could involve building work.
